Weekly Leaderboards

From the 29th of October to 10th December your node earnings in attos will rank you on a weekly leaderboard, gaining a set number of points at the end of each week. These weekly points will then determine your final position at the end of the six weeks and what you'll earn for your efforts.

Leaderboard Points

The weekly leaderboard ranking is based on how much you have earned in a 7 day period, measured by qualifying data payments from nodes to your wallet address. Each week ends on Tuesday at 15:00 GMT, with the official results published shortly after.

Your leaderboard rank at the end of the week converts into points based on the tiers below:

These points then accumulate each week to determine your overall finishing position in the Node Rewards Program, and therefore the amount of tokens you'll be paid after the Token Generation Event in January 2025.

Qualifying data payments

The leaderboard ranking is based on the weekly earnings from the data uploads made by MaidSafe uploaders and our official partners. The wallet addresses of these uploaders will be published with the leaderboard for transparency and verification.

Why don't other uploads count?

It's reasonable to ask why all uploads to the network don't count towards these points tallies? This is for a few of reasons:

  1. We don't want to introduce a loophole where the leaderboard can be gamed by people paying themselves through the smart-contract, faking data-payments. Publishing the uploader addresses gives transparency to everyone.

  2. We also want the latitude to distribute tokens for people to use the network, and upload their own data. This allows us to do that fairly, for you it means you ca try the network without feeling like you're missing out.

  3. We have more rewards and incentives progams to come 😉

Can I use the attos I earn to upload data?

Yes! You don't need to hold your earnings in your wallet. You are free to move them, or use them to upload your own data to the network should you choose to. This won't affect your place on the leaderboard, nor the rewards you'll earn, and you don't need to hold the tokens to get your rewards either. At the moment you'll need to use the CLI tools to upload, but we've got a new app coming soon to make it easy for anyone to give the network a try, no experience neccessary!
