MetaMask (MM) Setup

We have created this guide to set everyone up in MetaMask (MM), as that will be needed to participate in the beta testing regarding EVM that is taking place starting Oct 22.

Follow These Steps:

1. To begin, go to: https://metamask.io/ and click “Get MetaMask”.

2. Now click “Add to Chrome”. The page will adjust depending on your browser. I have had success installing MM in Chrome, Firefox, and Brave.

3. Click “add extension”

4. Now click the checkbox “I agree to MetaMask’s Terms of Use”, and click “Create a new wallet”.

5. Click “No thanks”

6. Create a password

7. Now let's get your secret recovery phrase so you can access your MM wallet from anywhere in the world. Click “Secure my wallet”

8. Click “Reveal Secret Recovery Phrase”

9. Now you will see your recovery phrase.

Note: Never take a screenshot of your recovery phrase, store in Notepad, etc. This should be written down on paper and put somewhere safe. Anyone with these 24 words can access your MM wallet, and therefore any crypto assets.

10. Now we need to verify the words and click “Confirm”

11. Click “Got it”, then “Next”, then “Done”

12. You have now successfully created an Ethereum wallet. The next step is adding the network we will be using. To do this go to the top left where it says “Ethereum Mainnet” and left click. Now you should get a pop up and should click “+ Add network”

13. Now go to the bottom of the screen and click “Add a network manually”
14. Next steps will be released prior to Oct 22.
